Paradox Interactive have officially announced details of the first expansion for their World War 2 era grand strategy title Hearts of Iron IV, six months after the game’s June release.
Titled ‘Together for Victory’, this initial DLC will focus on the Commonwealth nations and how they rallied around Great Britain as it took a stand against Nazi Germany. The headline feature is a new set of National Focus trees for the five main subjects of the British Crown at the time – Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the British Raj in India.
These new options allow for a number of branching possibilities. For example, Australia can go down a route that sees them break away from the Crown and follow its own more defined path, as discussed in last week’s Development Diary for the game.
- Join the Dominions as they step up to the challenge of defending the motherland for King and Country in Together for Victory, the first major expansion for Hearts of Iron IV, the critically acclaimed strategy wargame from Paradox Development Studio.
- Hearts of Iron IV Together for Victory has been developed by Paradox Development Studio and is published under the banner of Paradox Interactive. This game was released on 15th December, 2016. You can also download Hearts of Iron IV.
- Hearts of Iron IV 4 Together for Victory DLC. Hearts of Iron IV 4 Man the Guns DLC. Hearts of Iron IV - Waking the Tiger. Hearts of Iron IV 4 - Cadet Edition. Hearts of Iron IV 4 - Death or Dishonor. Hearts of Iron IV 4: Colonel Edition.
Other features will include:
- Technology Sharing.
- New Autonomy system has different levels of dependency and status for subject nations – puppets, Dominions and fully independent states.
- Continuous National Focus ideas will add new bonuses and improvements to your country as you take it through the crucible of war.
- Nations can request a Lend-Lease agreement from their allies and friends if they are in dire need of equipment and vehicles.
- Further updates and changes to the combat system.
As always, this update will come with a free path that will have its own feature set as well as many crucial fixes. The Together for Victory patch is 1.3 ‘Torch’.
There hasn’t been a release date yet, sadly with the official material only saying “soon”, so it’ll be interesting to see if we get this one before Christmas.
